What Each Factor Means
Deposit
This is the cash amount held at pickup and returned when the bike comes back undamaged. A lower deposit reduces your financial exposure. No-deposit options (Bikago) eliminate this risk entirely but require comprehensive insurance.
Typical deposits:
- 125cc scooters: ฿1,000–3,000
- 160cc scooters: ฿2,000–5,000
- ADV 350 / Forza 350: ฿5,000–30,000
Passport
Physical passport hold is a risk. If there is a dispute, the shop has your exit document. Prefer: passport copy + cash deposit. Avoid: physical passport handover.
Insurance
“Insurance included” is usually third-party liability only — it covers damage you cause to others, not damage to the bike you are riding. Comprehensive insurance (Bikago’s model) covers the rental bike itself with a fixed excess.
